Identity fraud and the use of fraudulent documents to obtain products and services is a growing
global problem. The use of biometrics, particularly in identification documents, is a means of
ensuring the identity of the document holder. Biometrics are now being incorporated on a wide
variety of documents such as ePassports, identity cards and access cards. In almost all cases, this
involves storing the biometric information on an electronic chip.
TSSI have developed a novel method of storing biometric information using a volume hologram -
the Biometrigram. The hologram can incorporate multiple biometrics aswell as other analogue images
and even encrypted digital information within a single physical space or hologram.
