LogView is the PC-based software tool designed for use with the Verid+ family of fingerprint
verification units. Suitably modified Verid+ units will perform all the functions of a normal
Verid+ unit, and additionally log verification and other transactions performed on the unit. A real
time clock is present in the modified unit, permitting time and date stamping of all transactions.
Each time someone uses the Verid+ at a door, an event occurs and is logged by the Verid+
unit. The Verid+ records the time and date of each event along with other detailed information
concerning the transaction. All the events are stored in permanent, non-volatile memory
within the unit and are retained even if the unit loses power.
The transactions can then be extracted from the Verid+ using the Verid LogView utility. As
there may be a large number of transactions to be retrieved, configurable subsets of all the
transactions held in the Verid unit can be selectively retrieved and displayed. In addition to
simple time and attendance reporting, the information retrieved can be used to identify users who
are having difficulty with the unit and who may, therefore, need re-enrollment.
