With integrated long-life batteries and a robust carrying case, the unit is ideal for portable use.  Supported by comprehensive software, a full page image of the document is captured and discrepancies between the data from visual zone, MRZ and (if present) the data on the RFID chip in the ePassport are highlighted.

The workstation is designed to read the information from machine readable travel documents (MTRD) and check that the data conforms to the ICAO and ISO standards. The portable workstation will also examine the authenticity of the document by illuminating it with different light sources and check that the appropriate security features are present.The basic unit captures images under white and IR (870nm) light, but further options include an RFID-tag reader, fingerprint biometric reader and alternative UV and IR light sources.
